Lane County Board of Commissioners

Comment: When there is a chance to comment, people should register for the meeting to do so virtually. After registration, people will receive information on how to attend.

Those coming to the meeting in person should register on the attendance sheet located near the front door.

There will be instructions during the meeting to speak at public hearings and make public comments.

People can also email [email protected] with public comments by noon Monday. The subject line should include “PUBLIC COMMENT FOR MEETING DATE 07/19/2022”.

MORNING SESSION

When: 9am

What: Commissioners will listen to and respond to public comments, then consider a consent schedule that includes minutes and the addition of two positions in public works.

They will then consider a resolution and order accepting a $1.9 million grant from the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission for law enforcement related to illegal marijuana grow operations. The grant provides funding for three full-time positions primarily focused on illegal cultivation operations, but additional employees would be available to help respond to high-priority emergency calls.

Staff will then present a list of special projects to be funded if a parks levy is voted on and passed later this year. They are seeking input from officials before the board considers an order in August to submit the local option levy for the Nov. 8 ballot.

Commissioners will also appoint individuals to the Home For Good Board of Directors. This vote is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., which means that it could push back other points on the agenda.

The council will then review the county’s capital improvement plan for the next few years and discuss a timeline and process for convening the county’s charter review committee.
