Volunteers rolled out to help beautify Redlands on Saturday May 7, as part of the 13th Community Service Day.
More than 1,000 volunteers were expected, 10 times the number of participants at the first event at Sylvan Park in 2009.
Projects this year included stabilizing pond banks at Ford Park, installing fencing at Gateway Ranch, painting fencing at Redlands Sports Park, and landscaping work at Heritage Park and along State Street.
The event is organized by the Redlands Service Club Council, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the city.
Lunch was provided by the Kiwanis Club of Redlands and entertainment by DaBand Rocks.
